What do you guys think this is worth and what year about? The sign does have an imbossed feel but I'm just not sure if it's procelian. Also, I"m thinking I want to restore the rack part. Is that the thing to do or should it be lieft alone?

Do not restore it!!! It will take all it's character away and it will look way to New!!!
Killer Rack!! But I would fill it with cans and leave it alone.

I have to agree with Jason and Jim... I would not touch the rack... It has character as it sits.... In my mind's eye I can imagine driving up to a small "out of the way" Mobil station in the late 50s- early 60s and finding such a rack still in use...
This is just a guess, but I would say in use from mid 30s to mid 40s..... As to value.... I don't have the expertise to know, as such I will leave it to those that collect such items....
A great looking oil can rack!!!!!!

Okay! It stays as is. I'll clean it up though. And I do need to find some can's in time to finish it off.
I'll check it out online, but are such cans available?
Thanks for all the good words!!! I am totally liking it myself!!!! Damn thing is cool!!!!

Probably cost $1500 + for 24 of the correct quarts, but would be worth every penny once filled up. Start hunting down the cans, it will give you something to search for.

It'll cost at least $2500 to fill it with decent gargoyle cans!
