Very nice! I would restore that. You could always add a flattening agent to the paint to give it the aged, sun faded look.
I`m sorry to say, but rust is not patina. If side 2 was as good as side 1 then I`d say leave it as is. I have several original survivor pumps and paid more for them because of their condition. Survivor to me means at least 75-80% original paint and minimal rust.
You will realize maximum value for this with a quality restoration and filled with very clean and nice cans (even if it takes a year or two to fill). Ever see patina`ed (rust covered) cars sell for high dollars at Barret Jackson? Mint survivor cars do as well as quality restored cars.
At the end of the day, it is yours and you should keep the way it will give you the most pleasure!
