Actually, "rust is Patina"..... The definition of Patina is; "the chemical reaction to metal by outside influences"........
In Copper based metals such as bronze, the metal turns a green color.... In iron based metals such as steel, the metal turns brown and rust grows....
The bottomline is; The rack is yours and you should/will do as you like with it... If you were going to turn it around, IMO, you would get more for it, if it were left alone.
A lot of us here have multiple decades in the hobby... We may or may not do things the same as each other....... There has always been one tried and true rule: "It is yours, do as you like"....
