I had been looking for one of these pumps to add to my collection. Finally found one complete and in pretty nice shape. Someone has put opaque glass in the top should be clear glass.
It didn't come with the strip that has the perforated sales message that goes in the top.
Does anyone know if anyone makes them or where I can get one? Can someone post a photo of one that they have?
I would appreciate any help.

Dave, Check my site and look under 1950's pumps. There is a picture of one that we restored and sold to a Corvette guy locally. It did come with the opaque glass so that the mech. would not be visible. We made the message band using some fabric from a boat top upholster. The message was customized to our clients tastes. I was about to ask what all those brown cylinders were for, then I went and read the description on Pauls site. Very cool idea!!
Did/does the ribbon move continuously or rotate like 90 deg and stop for a time.?
What's the ribbon made out of?

The message rotated around continuiosly, showing across the lighted face. We used a wood burning tool with the small round tip to burn holes in the pattern of the message. Light comes through the holes. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Paul, thanks for the info. Did you leave the opaque glass in or did you put clear glass in once the band/ribbon was installed?
