Just removed the Veeder unit and trying to get it reset. When I turned the reset handle it dropped down the plate that covers the 0 numbers. See pic. How do I reset this?

Also, how do I change the price wheels on the bottom?

Is there a good reference manual that shows how to operate these?

It appears you have just started reset the numbers. Continue to turn the reset and when it is done the covers will open back up showing all zeros.

To adjust the price wheels at the bottom you just turn them to the next number. However they are most likely froze. There is a little pin under the wheels that is spring loaded and when you turn the wheel it moves to the next indent under the wheel to hold it. If they are froze you will have to remove them and get them freed up. Just don’t loose the spring in the pin!

I was able to continue to crank and it did open up the covers. I also downloaded the PDF manual forms Tom’s website. The price wheels are frozen. I ended up just taking off the ones I wanted to change and reset them where I wanted them.

Once my pump is done it will be outside in the Arizona sun. I’m thinking about putting some clear,lacquer on the numbers that show so they don’t fade as easily. Anyone ever tried that?

I've cleared them before but havent put it out in the desert sun. I would recommend clear urethane, as its more UV resistant.

Makes more sense to use UV resistant urethane. Thanks!
