I picked up an old service station bell and I was wondering if there are sources for some of the vintage electrical parts out there. The coil has no continuity. The numbers that I can read on the side are 3266 9. It's the type that has the plastic tube with the metal slug in the center. I know it's a long shot and I appreciate any leads or advice.

Randy, I believe this new member is going to get the part he needs, thanks to you. The defective part the guy is looking for is actually the bell's striker solenoid. When activated, the solenoid kicks out the striker rod that then rings the bell. The Milton site you referred the new guy to does have replacement solenoid's available for less than forty bucks. Unfortunately, the Milton and Knipp parts don't seem to be interchangeable. The Milton coil is significantly smaller. Bummer.

Yeah, there is no way it was going to be a direct fit replacement. Now, let the modification begin.

Yes, the guts are concealed, so think about "engineering" a modification of the MILTON solenoid that's available. Best of luck, John
